The great stories that really mattered

Probably some of you know that I am going through hard times. There are a lot of bills to pay with almost no money and assignments. I am just trying to find some other jobs that have nothing to do with my business, to work as a freelancer in agencies - but that is not easy too. I am questioning myself how to continue whether it would not be better to just quit everything. I yearn for normality.

On the other hand I am experiencing Jesus very strongly. There are many prophecies these days speaking directly and precisely in my life. Even though it is very hard these days, very challenging to walk on the water (especially with high waves) I do not repent anything. I rather want to go my way with Jesus than to have a boring irrelevant life. I want to live a life with impact. During those hard times there are some quotes that are helping me a lot. And so there is a quote coming to mind I have preached about some time ago...

Sam Gamgee: It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened?

But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.

But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding on to Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.

The really good thing is that we as christians have a lot more reasons to continue. About that I was preaching...
